About
Independent game researcher with an interest in videogames as storytelling media, temporality, philosophy of videogames and videogame paratexts. Other interests are transliteracy, new media and e-learning. I have published and presented conference papers on a range of topics in Game Studies as well as on Renaissance and Romantic Literature. I regularly post about my research on my blog 'Ludus ex Machina'.
As Impact Research Fellow at DMU, I was involved in collecting, indexing and evaluating materials and outputs produced by social media projects with a view to analysing their contribution to academic impact, especially in relation to transliteracy and business innovation.
Currently, I am in India exploring possibilities of developing Game Studies here and also simultaneously pursuing postdoctoral research at IIT, Delhi on narratives, emotions and cognition (http://www.iitd-cognition.com/) with a view to exploring emotions in game narratives.
